Devotions for a Busy Business Person, no. 265 – Needle and thread
Many of you know about Regen.Global, the vision to bring clean air, clean water, good food and restored soils so that people might spiritually and materially flourish. The challenge for me as a visionary is to articulate that vision and then see it implemented.
That is why I need implementers.
“Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.” Habakkuk 2:2
I was watching a Métis artisan do bead work. She needed both needle and thread. To me, the needle represents the visionary poking through the existing paradigm and leading the way to a new reality. The implementer is the thread, sustaining the pattern and making something beautiful, turning the vision to substance. Both are needed.
“The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you!” 1 Corinthians 12:21
Just as a needle cannot make the pattern on its own, and thread without guidance tangles or unravels, no vision can flourish without execution—and no action has meaning without a guiding purpose. It’s a divine partnership. In God’s economy, visionary and implementer are two parts of one calling.
“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Timothy 1:1-2
Are you the needle or the thread? I pray that through critical self-awareness, the help of friends, and I would suggest, by reading Rocket Fuel you can make that determination. May God give you the partners to complement the gifts you have, just as God gave Paul, Timothy.
Prayer
God, help me understand my role and bring the right partners around me. Thank you for the weaving you have entrusted to me.
Amen
