About Mark Polet
I am a husband, father, and grandfather.
I am a biologist. Since 1972 I knew that is all I wanted to do. Since 1977 I have practised this science, this art.
My specialty is habitat restoration. I now have the privilege of encouraging young scientists and practitioners in this craft, something that gives me great delight. I work on habitat restoration in three general ways: developing technology that will reduce industrial impact on ecotypes, active ecosystem restoration, and regenerative agriculture.
While working on five continents, I have noticed that where there is water stress, air pollution, degraded soils, food insecurity and energy insecurity, the people I have come to love and admire not only struggle materially but spiritually and mentally. As a follower of Jesus, I want to help my neighbours flourish in every aspect. In fact I am commanded to do so.
These pages are dedicated to the next generations who will help this good earth and its peoples flourish.
