Devotions for a Busy Business Person, no. 26 – Finish the Race

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

’Tis better to have fought and lost, than never to have fought at all,’ Arthur Hugh Clough

Ken is a friend of mine and a retired businessman; he had several businesses including laundromats and rental properties amongst others. Some went well, some did not, but as he told me last week, he feels like a success. Why? Because he tried.

You all are a success because you have put your hand to the wheel of business.  The only failures in business are the ones who have not tried. You all are winners.

The same goes with the pursuit of God. The failures are those who lead an unexamined life, content to wade in the shallow slough of mere existence. You all have God shaped hearts that you are filling with a knowledge of Him. Well done! I feel grateful to walk with you on the journey.

Prayer

Dear God, help me keep my hand to the wheel of business through your gifts of perseverance and courage.

Amen
