Devotions for a Busy Business Person, no. 238 – Challenge the Tradition

I am in Tajikistan where we are attending a wedding of a dear friend. At the religious ceremony, our friend, the bride, was veiled, had to look in a mirror, and put her finger in honey. When we asked her what the traditions represented, she said she didn’t know.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

It is a great time to check on your traditions as we approach the new year – how you do things in your business. Are they still valid? Do they need to change?

Jesus is the great example. His Presence on Earth upended all paradigms, even as He fulfilled ancient scripture. He knew what traditions to keep and which to throw out.

Prayer

God of the new thing, God of permanence, help me transition to conform to Your Will.

Amen
